Dr Wendy Dixon

Wendy

BVSc (Distinction)
Veterinarian

Wendy graduated with a BVSc (Distinction) from Massey University New Zealand in 1993 and spent 2 years in small animal practice before travelling to the UK to work and study. On moving to the UK she started a 3 year course in classical homeopathy, attended by other veterinarians and medical doctors with the Homeopathic Physicians Teaching Group in Oxford. Wendy graduated with a Veterinary Membership to the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1999. Further study with the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists lead to a qualification in veterinary acupuncture in 2004.

Wendy then spent a total of 17 years working in a combined conventional and holistic veterinary practice in the UK, using the best that both modalities have to offer.

Using complementary therapies in addition to the use of conventional medicine and surgery has and continues to enhance her own practice hugely and has kept her passionate about working in the veterinary profession. Wendy has been working at the New Plymouth District Veterinary Group since 2014 and sees both first opinion cases and also takes referrals in both acupuncture and homeopathy.

In her spare time Wendy is an avid gardener, trying to produce as much organic produce from her little garden as possible whilst looking after the small zoo of pets that have been acquired between her and her two girls over the 3 years since back in NZ.
