Shona

Dip NZVN RVN
Clinic Manager and Veterinary Nurse

Shona has been a cornerstone of the St Aubyn Vet Clinic team since 2007. After completing her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from Otago Polytechnic in 2009, she continued to build her expertise in animal behaviour and nutrition—two areas she remains passionate about to this day.

Her journey into animal care began before vet nursing, working for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which cemented her lifelong desire to work with and for animals. Since then, her dedication, leadership, and experience have seen her take on the role of Clinic Manager, where she supports both the team and our clients with warmth and professionalism.

For Shona, no two days are the same—and that’s what she loves most about her job. Whether it’s caring for animals or educating pet owners, she brings empathy and enthusiasm to every aspect of her work.

At home, Shona is kept busy with her young family and Kelly-May, a rescued moggie cat with a remarkable survival story after being brought into the clinic as a near-lifeless kitten. Now thriving, Kelly-May is a daily reminder of the magic of veterinary care.
